Health and Fitness

The more you move, the better…..

According to the world health organisation, health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well being; not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

The term ‘fitness’ refers to the ability to meet the demands of life safely and effectively, without exhaustion or undue stress. Fitness is a multi-dimensional concept; the level of fitness in one area can influence many other areas of your life including emotional, social, medical and nutritional. The idea being the fitter and healthier your lifestyle is, the more you will get out of other parts if your life.

To improve health it is recommended that you undertake at least 45 minutes of moderate to intense physical activity on at least three days a week. There have been extensive studies over the past ten years which have come to this conclusion. Try finding a sport or activity you enjoy which may compliment your regular exercise routine.

A regular, periodised exercise program created by a member of the DCPT team will put you on the right path to a healthy and more fulfilling life.
